BEVERAGE TESTING INSTITUTE’S CHAMPIONSHIP AWARD - Silver Medal Winner

While many folks prefer a lighter style of wine to pair with their wild turkey, we're partial something a bit bolder. Try this combination... Wild Turkey Breast with Fruit Chutney and Hooker RFC 2005 Home Pitch Syrah. Here's the lowdown on the Hooker Syrah:

Gold Medal: Jerry Meads New World International Wine Competition

A highly structured, complex Syrah, made in the classic style, with a bright blackberry nose, vanilla bean toastiness and French Oak showing through on the palate. Grapes for this hearty-full bodied wine are from Betsy’s Vineyard in bountiful Knight’s Valley, which has long been regarded as one of Sonoma’s finest wine producing regions. Knight’s Valley combines the warmth of California’s sunshine by day, with cooling afternoon winds and morning fog from the coastline to produce complex wines packed with dense fruit flavors. This wine has won a Gold Medal at Jerry Meads New World International Wine Competition.

We've sampled all of the Hooker RFC wines and they're all outstanding with fish and game or just kicking back on the porch watching the ducks fly by. If you're looking for a great gift for your favorite wine enthusiast (or yourself), order their gift box with all of the Hooker RFC varietals.

Hooker Wines kicks-off at the 40th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC on April 8th. The first road trip to a rugby tournament David and Betsy Lawer ever took was to the Cherry Blossom Festival Tournament 35 years ago. As a result they thought it appropriate to first introduce the wine at this tournament.
